Purpose

The ideal candidate will be comfortable generating frequent financial reports for senior management. They should track financial information in a well-organized manner and assist the Controller in all aspects related to finance at the organization. This candidate should be comfortable analyzing balance sheets in order to forecast revenue and keep track of accounts payable and receivable.

Responsibilities

Perform as right-hand person to Controller in managing all aspects of financial accounting, audit and SEC reporting functions

Strong accounting background with ability to adapt, learn and apply yourself to new industry and in new company environment

Able to handle month end close that is audit-proof (GAAP compliant, reviewed by auditors quarterly)

Prepare or review general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports

Identify, research, and explain variances of actual performance to forecast

Working with the company financial team to create internal controls and policies

Serve as back-up for other areas in the accounting department

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field required, advanced degree highly desirable

CPA, preferred

Must have 8 years accounting experience, including some public accounting

Experience with SEC reporting and GAAP compliance, memo writing

Ability to manage 3rd party audit firm

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong reconciliation skills

High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality

High energy and a can-do attitude; exhibit a responsible and responsive tenacity
