We are looking for an experienced candidate with a passion for cleantech and renewable energy to join the BayoTech team as a Bids & Proposals Associate. This individual will support Sales and Business Development in securing new business and act as a consultant to ensure customer needs are identified and a winning approach is adopted. The role will report to the VP, Sales Operations and work with teams across the company to win bids, secure grants, and collaborate with strategic partners.

As Bids & Proposals Associate, you will:

Identify and track solicitations for hydrogen generators, hydrogen supply and hydrogen transport and storage equipment.

Lead RFP/RFI responses, including ownership of timeline, assignments, and deliverables

Coordinate bid responses across the BayoTech commercial and technical teams; strategic partners; and equipment providers

In partnership with BayoTech commercial team, support the development of consortium relationships to support DOE Hydrogen Hub opportunities

Pursue hydrogen grant funding opportunities, such DOE, EPA, CEC

Experience a rapidly evolving and high growth startup environment.

Translate customer needs into project scope, timelines, costs (including CapEx & OpEx), quotations and pricing by coordinating and working with multiple technical, operational and commercial groups.

Ensure complete handover of accurate project information (scope, schedule, costing and pricing) to the Project Manager upon award and project initiation.

Assist Business Development and Sales to define value proposition, price and T&Cs

Document bids and proposals in customer relationship management system

Assist Sales Operations in the design, implementation and maintenance of the quote and proposal system

You bring:

A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science, engineering, math or financial discipline

MBA or master’s degree is a plus

Experience in technical writing, project management, or grant solicitation

A strong interest in hydrogen, clean energy, and sustainability

Curiosity and a desire to continuously learn and have a meaningful impact

Ability to work in a fast-paced, unstructured environment

Discipline and professionalism to thrive in a remote work environment with distributed team

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously

Strong project coordination and management skills

Strong team player

Attention to detail

Self-motivation with strong organizational, communication (written and verbal) and computer skills (expertise with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, database-based applications).

Highly motivated and innovative analytical scientist with a PhD in Chemical Engineering and 15 or more years of experience in chemicals or related industry. Must be experienced with hydrogen production systems, especially Steam Methane Reformers (SMRs), and in research and development of chemical processes. The position requires working with a small research and development team focusing on distributed hydrogen production utilizing small chemical reforming systems.
