Description

As Business Relationship Manager, you will represent both the Project Management Office and the Information Technology department as our liaison with the company’s various business units. You will help to convey our technology vision to the rest of the company to help them take advantage of existing and evolving innovations. You will act as our eyes and ears in the business to ensure our capability and direction are being conveyed and understood as intended. You will assist the business in the preparation of new project requests, helping to convey the needs in language most understandable to technology professionals. Your primary goal will be to maximize the benefits of technology in the furtherance of our corporate business goals. Sample projects currently include Cybersecurity rollout, Company Intranet development, ERP cloud migration/replacement evaluation, IT infrastructure refresh, Business Intelligence Reporting, Transportation Management System, etc.

Responsibilities

Lead as the strategic interface between the BRM’s function and business partner to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized.

Develop a deep knowledge of the business partner’s business unit and build positive relationship development, both horizontally and vertically.

Ensure business value realization and optimization, from value plans through business case development, financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities to add value.

Ensure project and initiative progress, including consistent and effective communication. This includes building road maps, managing escalation, and avoiding risk.

Be creative and innovative with regards to your knowledge and awareness of industry trends and digital advances for new opportunities and business needs.

At a business unit-level, own the BRM’s functional operating and project/program budget, and perform accurate budgeting and forecasting across operations and projects or programs.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Accounting, or related discipline.

10 years of work experience in Information Technology, to include a minimum of 4 years in a business analyst and/or IT project management role

An exceptional communicator, capable of developing strong business relationships

Demonstrated knowledge of SDLC and project lifecycle phases.
