Hydrogen Production Systems

Ready to become a hydrogen producer? Hydrogen generation systems manufactured by BayoTech are a reliable source of locally produced low-carbon, low-cost hydrogen.

Making Hydrogen Easy™

Applications

Ready to become a hydrogen producer?

Our Technology

BayoTech’s steam methane reformers are more energy efficient than traditional hydrogen production. Building on technology first developed by Sandia National Laboratory, BayoTech’s proprietary design leverages high heat recuperation to achieve greater energy efficiency. Our patented reformer uses 20-30% less energy, saving money and reducing carbon footprint.

Sized to Meet Local Demand

Compact in size, our modular systems tap into existing natural gas pipelines or co-located biogas resources to produce up to 1,000 kilograms of hydrogen per day – that’s enough to fill as many as 200 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Larger units up to 5 and 10 tons per day are currently in development to meet your growing hydrogen needs.

Performance Guarantee

BayoTech’s hydrogen generation systems are designed to operate autonomously and are remotely monitored from a central control room. The system is designed with a target availability of 98% including planned and unplanned maintenance activities. Our BayoCare™ program guarantees performance and provides monitoring, routine inspection and all annual maintenance including parts and labor. Our quality management system for the H2-1000 hydrogen generation system is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Key Benefits
More energy efficient than traditional hydrogen production. For our customers this translates to less feedstock, a smaller footprint, and lower costs.
Our modular, upgradable approach enables customers to match hydrogen generation with their near-term needs and increase supply as demand grows.
BayoTech’s high thermal efficiency and elimination of wasteful transportation result in lower carbon emissions compared to traditional hydrogen generation technology. Using biomethane for feedstock or combining with carbon capture technologies can even yield carbon negative on-site hydrogen.
A consistent supply of on-site hydrogen backed by the industry’s only performance guarantee.
BayoTech’s H2-1000 includes extensive safety features to help prevent common risks associated with hydrogen.

As preventative measures, BayoTech includes the following safety controls:

Remote and on-site emergency shut off systems
Stringent safety policy & guidelines
Leak detection systems
Robust remote monitoring systems powered by Emerson
NFPA 2 Hydrogen Technologies Code and CGA S1.1 and 5.5
Process control systems as per IEC 61508/61511
Pressure relief systems (PRV/PRD)
Safety vents
Manual overrides for all safety controls

Utilizing these safety measures not only meets industry standards but exceeds them and provides both the facility and surrounding areas a safe and secure local source of hydrogen fuel.

A Molecule to Fit Any Equation

BayoTech can produce molecules in a wide range of methods to meet various carbon emission thresholds.

BayoGaas_With_Tagline

Low carbon hydrogen produced by BayoTech’s SMR system from pipeline natural gas.

Produced at cost parity with diesel, with a 42% reduction in emissions when consumed at point of production.

BayoGreen_With_Tagline

Low carbon hydrogen produced by fueling BayoTech’s SMR system with a blend of renewable natural gas (RNG).

RNG is sourced from dairy, food waste & landfills.

BayoZero_With_Tagline

Carbon neutral or carbon negative hydrogen produced by fueling BayoTech’s SMR system with a RNG blend > 30%.

BayoBlue_With_Tagline

Low carbon hydrogen produced by teaming BayoTech SMR with carbon capture utilization and storage equipment (CCUS).
